Today, for the third time this week, a telemarketer called me. Seriously annoyed, I told him in German that I don't speak English, in an attempt to get rid of him. He then started delivering his product pitch in German. FML

See that's why it helps to know an indigenous language.

Why didn't you just hang up instantly like a normal person?

Seriously how difficult is it to say "sorry I'm not interested, but have a good day" and hang up....yes it's annoying but that's all you have to say....it's just someone doing their job, and I'd rather have them trying to work then living off welfare

Repeat after me "I would like to be placed on your Do Not Call list." As soon as you say it, they have to do it. It can take up to a month to go into effect, but you'll be off it after that.

Oh telemarketers the job to annoy people

We get such calls three times a day. Count yourself lucky.

Dude just make monkey noises like me

I'm jealous that telemarketers only call you 3 times a week...we get them 3 times an hour.

You work for a sex hotline I'm presuming.

I find that the more I say, "Not interested please take me off your calling list," the more telemarketers call me. When I angrily say to **** off, they don't call back most of the time.

I work in telemarketing. If they politely tell me to take them off the calling list after listening to my offer, I remove them (otherwise I ask them why they claim not to be interested when they have no idea what it is about). If they just hang up before I can confirm that I am talking to the right person, I'll put them on call-back. If they just yell at me to never call again, I'll register them as a no thank you, which means they will be called back in about 6 months. It's a decent job, the people I work with are very nice, I get a decent salary and 90% of the people I call aren't assholes like OP and most of the people in the comments here seem to be. Then again I work at one of the few serious telemarketing companies in Sweden, not one of those sketchy scam ones.

I'm glad you are respectable enough to take them off the calling list. But most telemarketers say "oh yeah I'll take you off have a nice day!" And call back like next week.
