Today, I accidentally left my concession card in the photocopier. I then got fined for not having a concession card on the train. I was photocopying it for a letter to get out of a fine for not having a concession card. FML

i have been to melbourne and i've heard how the connex (the train company) officers fine people unreasonably. concession cards are like lower fare train tickets for students/kids. most of the stories i've heard from people involve forgetting their tickets... if you photocopy your existing ticket (which has a date stamp that proves you've bought one while you were on a ride at that time) and send the photocopy in, they might believe you and not fine you. i know how sucky those officers are so i agree fyl. but i don't get why you didn't show them the photocopy you just made, or did you forget that too... which is too stupid because what was the point of going to photocopy and leaving emptyhanded.

Why were you making a letter to get out of not having a conession card when you already had one? Some people are so stupid. YDI.

If you have an concession card why did you need to photocopy it to tell them you don't have one? WHAT THE **** Sense this FML no makes.

You really want to pay that fine, don't you?

#15, I am one of thousands of people in my city that takes the train (LRT) everyday, jackass. And we have transit passes, not concession cards.

#35 & #36, i think what happened is the OP had PREVIOUSLY traveled without the card, got a fine, then made a copy of it to send to whomever is in charge of these things to get out of the fine - if you don't have the card on you but you do own one and you get fined, you can often get out of it. but maybe not twice in a row. and to the douchebags saying "ydi for catching a train", don't be such douchebags! not everyone can afford to drive a car/has a licence, and it isn't always possible to drive everywhere anyway. where i live, most people who work in the city or go to school/uni there catch trains because it's a nightmare to drive there and parking is virtually impossible.

why didn't you just show the copy you made? unless you forgot both but that would just be pathetic.

Agree with #40, i spend about 4 hours a day on a train. It sucks balls but you'd spend the same amount of time in traffic and lookin for parking. An i live in Sydney.
