Today, I asked my mom if she could include mashed potatoes and gravy with dinner. She then went on to yell at me about my "unhealthy eating habits" and how I've "gained a lot of weight in the past few months". I'm pregnant. FML

the question is...does she even know you're pregnant? :P

Just because you are knocked up doesnt give you an excuse to become a fat pig. assuming you know who the father is, which nowadays women are encouraged to be *****, any future man that you get with will want you back down to an exceptable weight. Also, maybe you could eat healthy for the baby. But that would require a woman to think of someone other than herself.

From the way you speak, I'm sure you're just rolling in the ladies. Thanks for coming to FMyLife and giving all us women advice so we know what's expected of us. P.S. "Acceptable", not "exceptable"

wtf is your problem, maybe she is with someone now, mashed potatoes dont make you a fat pig, and saying taht women dont think of others is stupid. If you are a dude, watch 40 year old virgin and realize taht will be you, but if you are a chick, this just makes you sound stupider by dissing your own kind

lmfao...it is seriously hilarious reading these kind of comments that idiots like you put.

Unless she's flat out stupid which is her fault . . . You probably haven't told her that and as such YDI.

1- preggo not thinking healthy for either herself OR MORE IMPOTANTLY, the baby which can do nothing to protect itself 2- the mother who raised this selfish person, & also doesnt seem to know her daughter is knocked up. Both just prime examples of the best woman kind have to offer. Actually, I think the mother could actully be saying what I was saying. Eat healthy, not like a pig.

Having a daughter crave potatoes should be the last thing on her mind; her daughter is knocked up!

I'm hungry now. Gee thanks OP! Just for that YDI. :)

It's hard to tell without more details, but it sounds like the mother's main complaint is her daughter's overall eating habits, not just with this one occurrence. Being pregnant is not a free pass to eat anything you want in whatever quantities you want - the caloric needs of a pregnant woman for much of her pregnancy are not as high as a lot of people think. It is possible the OP is getting fat IN ADDITION TO progressing through her pregnancy. If this is the case, then YDI.
