Some professors are just jerks. Unfortunately you can not prove he lost it. If he has tenure even if he admits he lost it there is nothing you can do over which i hate to say it really nothing. I mean look how long it took them to fire the coach at penn state that knew about the sexual abuse and then people still protested it Since he is actually willing to take it again ball is in your park. You can do it again and do a better job or take the zero. Most importantly remember not to take anymore of his classes. I know I will get thumbed down but it's the truth.

If you have it saved on the computer then i don't see the big deal. you could just copy the text from the computer on to a piece of paper (hand written). if not then fyl.

First off.. Amazed a professor lets you hand wrote anything!!! Re-do it and make a photo copy of all your work.. He sounds like an ass and he's getting away with it

You provided a hand written assignment? I think the professor's response was incredibly unprofessional, but if the assignment had been in electronic format you could have minimised the impact of this problem by being able to provide another copy and requesting any feedback in writing.
