Today, I asked my spouse to help me apply some hemorrhoid relief cream, since I couldn't see what was going on down there clearly. Next time, I hope I'll remember if I'm still in a conference call with my online classmates so they don't witness the whole thing again. FML

Heyjai tells us more.

Hi everyone, OP here. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Just to clarify my "brilliance" in getting into this situation...it was my first day of a virtual class so I had configured the camera and mic to work about an hour before class started, and thought I had muted both...but apparently had not done these properly. The hemorrhoids was particularly painful that day, and I didn't know if everything was ok down there, which is why I asked for spousal assistance before they left for work. i used the bed as it was easier to prop up on that than any surface in the bathroom. apparently several other students thought to set up their computers early too. just my luck. I won't be making THIS mistake anytime soon...

You're educating them by giving them real-life practical scenarios.

You don't have to see what's going on down there...You just stick it in and squeeze..

are you sure they witnessed the 'hole' thing? I'll show myself out

Holy cowturd! Thats one way to wreck an impression, but I hope that it blows over soon. I remember my teacher forgot to turn her projector off in front of class and then took a "How good are you in bed"-test online in front of everyone. Well, its been 6 years and that is still what she is remembered by! Hope you are more lucky :-D

Well, let's just hope that you don't see yourself in YouTube.

This is the kind of thing you'd expect to find in an American Pie movie

I'd imagine it wasn't willingly. If dedicated, you'll do strange things for grades, and in a greater extent, investing in the future.

That does make a difference. From the original post, it looked like you were doing the application during class-time. Next time, hang a blanket, or something, over the camera, just to be safe. Even if you think it's turned off. And put on some loud music.

Hopefully you pass those students as compensation for having to witness that and didn't lose your job if they reported you to the university.

At #59 they said classmates not students. They're not a teacher.
