Today, I began to choke on a large pill while my mom was in the room. Hoping that she would help me, I began to make a lot of noise. After she completely ignored me, I threw my body over a chair, saving my life. At this point my mother asks me to shut up because she can't hear her friend. FML

I'm going to assume that by "making a lot of noise," you meant banging on stuff and maybe throwing something, because if you were vocalizing, you weren't really choking. But still, I know how scary that feeling is, and it sucks your mom was a bitch about it.

Did the chair ask you if you needed help first? I understand that that's an important step to saving someone's life. Otherwise you could sue.

Yeah, I find that super hard to believe.

You... threw yourself over a chair? That's the only method of stopping yourself from choking?

If you can make noise then you aren't technically choking. And honestly a pill? That's pretty hard to do. your mother shouldn't have ignored you though.

Parents can be so dumb sometimes. I would have screamed at her and made her feel like absolute crap.

If you were choking it wouldn't have been possible to scream at her. Nice try though.

That's terrible! Choking noises are not normal, your mother should have looked over to hear if you were OK. How awfulof her! PS people, making noises doesn't have to mean OP made noises with his/hear throat. OP could have banged on a table or something. Maybe OP made the universal "I'm choking" gesture and his/her mom didn't bother to look.

i'm with 3, you should have played dead till she got off the phone. no, she would probably just step right over your unmoving body

So, if someone is choking, they can't clap or stomp? Wow. Thanks for being idiots, people.
