The cat caught the fish that quickly?? Just while u stepped in the other room?? Was there water everywhere?? U didn't notice the cat eye-balling it earlier? FAKE!
The OP probably just cut out a few details to keep the word count down or make the FML sound more dramatic.. I've had some close calls with my cat when we had pet mice - some cats can move FAST when they know your back is turned.
yeh, **** the fishes life. The poor thing. You sentenced it to death! I have never got on with fighters, they always die on me.
if you need info of how to keep bettas there are various forums which can help you out, I had over 200
MEOW. thank you for the delicious snack. the flavour was reminiscent of goldfish, and the presentation was 5 star. didn't put up much of a fight, though.
That's what you get for putting fish into BOWLS. Do you shove children in closets, too? Does your cat live inside a cardboard box and is only let out for five minutes while you feed it?? Just because idiots do it, doesn't make it right.
Actually, Siamese Fighting Fish need a small amount of water to live (20L and more, but usually less than 54L), many plants to hide and static water (you still have to clean the water though), 25°C. We don't know how many L of water were in the bowl (I've found a "big" fishbowl lately -24L) so we can't judge him. Still, aquariums must be closed or the water will be dusty and it's not safe for a fish. And I'm pretty sure the water was too cold however...
actually 12.5L is enough - lids are needed cause the fish tend to jump, and unless there's heavy dust, a little air dust does no problems http://www.seriouslyfish.com/profile.php?genus=Betta&species=splendens&id=19
How else is he supposed to keep FISH?
if they really needed a small amount of water you still need a filter and heater and all that stuff. people that put animals in small cages should be shot. YDI
it needs an aquarium! my beta fish has a 45 gallon aquarium and he's lasted 6 years so far. I love him
Ever hear the term fish bowl? Seriously... Tanks are just larger, square shaped bowls with more oxygen. Some fish only need small amounts of water
Poor fish... he's not suffering.
turns out it wasn't much of a fighter, after all.. kitten 1 - 0 Siamese!
Definitely YDI...no fish should live in a bowl to begin with.
You shouldn't have wasted your money on the weeds and the toy. You should have bought him a speed bag, a heavy bag, a sparring partner, a cutman and run the original "Rocky" on a continuous loop. Then, he would have been able to put up a decent fight. Next time, get a school of piranhas, that'll teach your cat to **** with your fish.
^^^^ I literally lol'd
okay I like how everyone on this is giving out fish facts to show everyone up, this is for amusement not to show how much we know on fish, who cares? and op, sorry your fish was eating by your cat next time do the smarter thing and cover the lid :) thank you :D
It backs up that it's the OP's own fault, not to show off. If he did the research on his fish like you'd do for any other pet, he'd see that his tank/bowl was inappropriate in about a zillion ways. OP - you're missing out on a lot, putting a betta in a bowl. Just get a tank with a lid next time - you can keep other fish in it (provided they don't look like the betta), and it will keep your freakin' cat out.
Ever heard of the food chain? Might want to consider it when mixing pets and keep them safely away from one another. YDI.

not much of a fighting fish then
MissSmiley613, a lot of fish can live ten, twenty years if kept right. Right PH, right temperature, right feeding, right cleaning regime, right environment/amount of the same species/etc. The fact that you think they don't last long is evidence to your poor ownership of fish. until you learn to look after pets right, don't buy them. OP. Well. That was pretty stupid, wasn't it? YDI.
