OP is clearly an Arab since he/she invited all the family to dinner, and knowing that I'd say he/she gave the uncle a ride because in our culture we respect older family members no matter what. FYL OP
Plenty of cultures invite their relatives out for a meal. In fact, I'd say that's a fairly normal thing to do, unless your family don't get along. That's honestly the most bizarre assumption I've ever heard.
That looked like it CRASHED and burned. I'll show myself out now.
well worded
Clearly...the uncle thought his balls had finally dropped & was looking for them. Although, I think it's safe to assume they're still hiding...right along side with his maturity.
Make him pay you back.
I would insist they file a report. I wouldn't pay for his childish behavior.
you should have told them no, the resturant has professional insurance, so does pretty much any bussiness, boo uncle, but seriously you should have refused

Does it really need to be said? Get him to pay you back for the broken table, and consider not ever inviting him out again.
He sounds like the kind of guy you'd hate to beat at board games.
