Today, I bought my cats two new litter boxes in hopes that they would use them. They still prefer to pee on the clothes in my closet. FML

it takes more than buying a litter box. you need to train your cats to use it....

Pick your clothes up off the floor, shut the door, and train yo pussy. :)

Teach them what to do with it. You can't just buy a litter box and expect them to fully understand that they are supposed to go to the toilet there.

All you have to do is lock your cat in the bathroom with the litter box for an hour or so & it will start using it. My mom did this with both of her cats. Cats just need to see where the litter box is

Put the clothing item that they like to do their business on the most into their litter box. That'll teach 'em.

I don't know why... but this comment has been assigned a position further down on FML than my other comment, when I wrote the comment I'm replying on beforehand. Also my other comment shares the same number as someone else. How will I know they mean me when they say 142?!? Some big FML conspiracy? I think so.

Also.... What the **** is this box my house partner put into MY house? I'm letting this person live here out of the kindness of my heart, as long as she pampers and feeds me. Now, everytime I want to take a piss, she moves me over to this refreshing smelling box. It's obvious that I'll be sleeping here. Why move me to some place cleaner, when my business is taken care of in the dusty hamper? I mean, the sand is nice, and it'll keep me fresh over night. This entire situation is just a doggone cat-astrophe. FML

They get bad toilet habits easily, if you never cleaned out their litter box when they were kittens, YDI (:

I adopted two three year old cats a few years ago & no matter what I did (pristine litter box, positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, etc., etc., etc.) they peed & pooed ALL over my place. They also hid 24/7 for six months to the point where their stomachs needed to be shaved due to knots. I've always loved animals & they - up to that point - had always loved me, but those two made my life hell & after cleaning up after them for at least two hours a day for months on end, I sadly had to find them a new home. Hope your situation isn't as bad.
