First, she could have seen others faking sick last year, but only tried it this year. Secondly, if the CEO only visits very rarely, either the company is huge or he's very lazy.

If she said, "Today, I decided to fake my illness to Christmas Shopping..." it would've been an instant YDI on her part. oh hey, that was my FML. I made an account just so i could say this to you... I wasn't faking being ill to go xmas shopping ta. I got my shopping out the way back in Nov! (no sick day!) I've got the flu bad, worse day to get ill!. I'm going into work tomorrow though despite how horrible I feel so I can speak to my boss about it!. Sucks to be me right now!

I thought normally you are not allowed to discuss wages with other employees? Maybe it's a collective prank?

@72 yeah it's 5 years late but whatever. There is no law that says you can't discuss your wages with other people. You employer doesn't want you discussing it because being ignorant about what others are being paid allows them to pay you less.

And sacrificing the health and possible attendance of every colleague you give it to.
