Today, I came home after a two week vacation to find that my wonderful dog had pooped and peed all over my room. My mother was kind enough to dog-sit; however, instead of helping me by cleaning up the horrid mess, she just left me coupons for Glade plug-in air fresheners. FML

This FML sounds to me like the mom abused the dog and I feel like it's an Fthedog'sL more than anything else. Hopefully the mom fed the dog correctly. I said the OP deserves it because she didn't take the time to find a suitable dog-sitter. If the OP wasn't willing to take the time to do that, then she probably didn't take the time to discuss with her mom some of the things she would/may have to do such as letting the dog go outside or cleaning up poo/pee.

It's truly not that hard to take a care of a dog, and really I'd find it safe to assume someone's own mother would be responsible enough to care for an animal. I really don't see that as a valid reason for a 'YDI' at all.

Is it really not common knowledge that taking care of a dog involves taking it outside to defecate/urinate? Besides, why wouldn't OP think their mom could take care of their dog? Obviously the mother raised her.

Wtf? Doesn't your mother know that dogs have to go OUTSIDE do do their business? And doesn't she know that when SHE dogsits, it is HER responsibility to feed, walk, play with, bathe, and pick up after the dog in question? FYL for being raised by an idiotic bitch. Hopefully she didn't do such a horrible job at taking care of you...if this is how she is with pets, I'd advise you to never ever give her grandchildren, and if you do HAVE to have kids, don't let her watch them. Ever.

What, so it's the poster's fault the dog-sitter didn't clean up after the dog she was caring for? Yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense. -___- Look, if you're taking care of a dog or a child, you take CARE of the dog/child. You don't just leave out some food and let the poor creature sit in a pile of its own excrement! You take it to where it uses the bathroom, you feed it regularly, you entertain and exercise it. God forbid YOU ever have a dog or a child...any creature under your care would probably be sleeping in a pile of feces and dry kibble.

I mean, it's EXACTLY like babysitting a kid who is still in diapers. If you're changing a baby's diapers and it pisses and ***** all over the changing table, you don't just leave the filth there for the mother to take care of when she gets home, you clean it up. Same thing with a dog.
