Today, I came out to my therapist as gay. Claiming that my parents "can't be that homophobic", my therapist outed me to them. They kicked me out of the house. FML

Today, I came out to my parents and siblings as gay. They were very accepting and asked me why I waited until I was 25 to do so. I didn't have the heart to tell them it was their own homophobic remarks that kept me closeted since I realized it at 14, and that a previous coming-out to a parent was dismissed as 'a phase'. FML

Today, I told my friends I had been hiding something that I wanted to come clean on. My one friend responds by saying, "FINALLY you come out of the closet. It's about time." I'm not gay. I was just going to tell them my parents were getting a divorce. FML

Today, I came out to my parents as gay and they reacted better than I expected. Then I found my car destroyed with a note that said "fag" on what used to be my hood. I never thought I'd have to sue my own family, but I'm lucky I have security footage. FML

Today, my brother came out to our parents. They weren't super happy with it, but they said that it was ok since they still had a straight son. I don't know how to tell them that I'm gay too. FML

Today, I finally opened up to my roommates about when I came out as gay to my parents, and how I was beaten and disowned over it. One roommate saw this as the perfect time to hit on me, since he's also gay and thought I was hot, but wasn't sure if I swung that way. Glad he was so invested in me pouring my guts out. FML

I like how everyone is up in the whole "sue em " comments but honestly for a teenager who was just kicked out of their house contracting a lawyer is definitely not the first thing on their minds. Speaking from first hand experience their most immediate thoughts would be finding shelter and some sort of employment seeing as now they will have to pay for all their expenses such as food, clothing and transportation.Sure they might get a good settlement from there therapist but they most likely have insurance and anyone who has gone to court against an insurance company will know the time and money it would take for them to get a reasonable settlement. Also pepole are commenting that its illegal to kick a child out when there a minor. While true the punishments for it is not that severe in most places and if the parents really don't want the child in thir house then the cops or courts won't force them they will just put the kid in they God awful foster care system. Sorry for the rant!
