Alc95 tells us more.
Op here. I didn't have an fml account when I submitted this. I do work at hooters. And I did not mean that this girls "worth" is measured by attractiveness. I'm only pointing out that she is considered "unattractive" because she didn't meet the standard of this particular contest (overweight, excessive acne, unkept hair, etc) and by no means should have won. Beauty standards and confidence are what we are judged on for this contest. And the owners son being socially awkward is an important detail because he has never had a girlfriend before and she told him she would not consider it if she didn't win this contest. So at the last minute, the owner added his sister and girlfriend to the judging panel (they originally weren't supposed to be) and had them vote for her. My managers were told of the rig to the contest by the other judges. The other judges said that even with the sister and girlfriend my scores were still highest and my managers told me because everyone was shocked at what had happened. It was very obvious that the results were tampered with. But the owners announce the results. I just used the words unattractive and socially awkward to make a point because of the word limit for submitting FMLs. And of course, I was angry when I wrote this at the unfairness of the situation and being mistreated by a company I've worked hard for, for years. I was a good sport about it, even after it was confirmed that the contest was rigged because there's nothing I can do anyway and just needed to vent in this fml

What year is this? Good prizes mind.
is your company currently hiring?
You mean to say that there were shady, underhanded dealings at a creepy bikini contest? Shocking.

I got what you were going for in your submission. Yeah, it sucks but, truth be told, that type of scenario, albeit in different forms, takes place in other (read that as most) other jobs as well. I do love how it is mostly women who now claim you are jealous, bitchy, etc. You do you, I saw where you were coming from and it did indeed suck.
I can't imagine getting that wound up about a bikini contest, if it's not being done just for fun what's the point of it? Surely there's more to be proud of in your job than maintaining a nice figure?
I think losing the cash prize and all expenses paid trip to Vegas is what wound her up, not losing the contest itself.
Oooh I completely missed that bit. Makes more sense now!

What kind of workplace has bikini contests?! Unless they had an equivalent "trunks contest" for the boys sounds like a sexual discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen...
I use to work at Hooter so as a cook (as I'm a guy), and I can say there are some very sketchy things that happen in that place as far as management and could working association. It even took me over a year to get my W2 from them. Good food, but in my experience, not a good place to work. The whole thing was sketchy af.
Time for a lawsuit. While your boss might think it's ok to rig a contest it is very clearly illegal to do so.
Come on, guys, give her a break. For the first time in her life - a pretty girl has had to face the fact that looks and confidence don't mean s*** in this world and you have to a) work hard b) do stuff you're not proud of to get ahead (lol, get it?) like everyone else. And she's sad and disappointed to feel things reserved for unattractive, socially-awkward people.
Or you know, maybe OP just wanted a nice vacation like I would to. Ever thought of that?
May I suggest looking into locally-held bikini contests or webcams in this case?

Where do you work that they have bikini contests? In most companies this would lead to lawsuits
I'm sure an impartial panel of FML judges would be able to chime in on the actual winner of the contest. We have the image of your competition, but nothing to compare it to.
