Today, I couldn't prove my son has had chickenpox, so his school gave us the option of getting a potentially dangerous shot he didn't need, pay for an expensive blood test to show that he previously had the virus, or sign a waiver stating I'm a religious nut refusing medical treatment. FML

Vaccinations are not dangerous. There are side effects, but they are unlikely

It's not "vaccines cause autism" Rather "my kid doesn't react well to vaccines".

Tell them no. And if they don't believe that he had it, let him go to school, guess who is the one taking the risk,

The shot is actually a vaccination and is not harmful in the slightest, and if he had already had chicken pox then it wont affect him at all

Why would the shot be dangerous? Seems to me like they'd just have you inoculate him, so I don't understand the fuss.

No vaccine is "potentially dangerous." Learn science
