Today, I discovered my boyfriend listens way better in his sleep than he does when he's awake. FML

Communication is key to a good relationship. Talk to him about it, if he doesn't listen then, maybe it's time to reevaluate your relationship.

I'm honestly not sure how to respond to this. If he pays less attention to you when he's awake, maybe have a heart-to-heart with him? Good luck OP!

at least you have that much, he could be like my husband and just not listen or pay attention ever.

I hear the secrets that you keep, when you're talking in your sleep.

I dont think you know how sleep works stupid

Considering that parts of the brain are always awake, it is in fact possible for OP's boyfriend to have heard and responded to something they said. There are even people who can remember things said to them while they slept. Maybe you should read about sleep before calling someone else stupid, given that your own understanding of it is apparently even worse than what you imply OP's to be. You've done a great job of coming across as not only an idiot, but also as being ignorant and rude.

As your username states... "at least he listened".

Well, if you need to just vent, then talk to him when he sleeps. But if you need his attention, choose his waking moment. Sleeping boyfriend is completly enough for rants and whining - you get to get it out of you and he isn't tired by hearing a tenth time that it's cold and raining again. Win-win ;)

... "Sorry, what did you say?" (0P's BF)

That’s interesting 🧐 But you should try to talk with him while he’s awake and try to form a pathway of communication. If communication doesn’t work during his waking hours then you might be better off ending it. And if you do work on yourself 💛
