Communication is key to a good relationship. Talk to him about it, if he doesn't listen then, maybe it's time to reevaluate your relationship.

I do the same thing to be honest, I used to sleep in classes and get great grades on tests for some reason. Interestingly, it was when we were reading an article or a book in class. I don't do it anymore, but it used to work pretty well

My boyfriend will, no matter in how deep of a sleep, always respond whenever I say "I love you," even when his response is "I love you shhhhhhh."
