Today, I discovered that my freezer had died when I saw the contents oozing out the bottom. The now-full trash can won't be picked up for another 6 days, and the high temperatures are supposed to be in the 100s all week. FML

Today, while clearing out my kitchen, I discovered a Tupperware container that'd been forgotten for so long it'd developed its own ecosystem. When I opened it, a funky smell engulfed the kitchen, and I realized I had unintentionally created a new form of life. I promptly closed the container, then put it in the freezer in the hope of killing whatever it is. FML

I honestly don't see why people deserve this I mean what did OP do wrong he has it bad already.

Oh my gosh, that sucks! I'm sorry. I had a freezer/fridge die while I was on vacation once. Came back after 8 days away...I know the feels. Baking soda and vinegar to scrub the rotten fridge out!

Can't you call city hall explain what happened and see if they can't send someone over to pick it up?. Thats what i did when my freezer died. The city sent someone over with in a matter of a few days to pick up the garbage bin.

So drive the trash to a dumpster somewhere

find nearest hypermarket and toss in their garbage if they have any outside

That sucks. How come your rubbish only gets picked up so rarely though? That is insane.

Anywhere I've ever lived in the United States, residential trash pickup is once per week. Apartment complexes and businesses are sometimes -- but not always -- on a more-frequent pickup schedule.

Our old freezer died three days before Thanksgiving a couple years ago. Thankfully, we had a couple of large ice chests to store the food and we found a store that delivered before the holiday. I hope you're able to find a quicker solution to the smelly trash.

a similar thing happened to me, except the fridge and freezer door seals broke, so the doors were open enough for the light inside to come on without anyone noticing. I came home from school and about $300 in food had all went bad (we had just gone grocery shopping), and the light in the fridge had melted a hole into the back of it, which was then Siliconed :/ TL;DR : fridge door seal broke and there's a hole in my fridge now and about $300 of groceries wasted

I had this happen once. Call the garbage company and tell them the problem. Usually they could tell you what to do because of the health hazards and odor involved. If not co-operative call the local health department and ask them what to do. It worked for me. Good luck

There's a chance that somewhere in Texas, there may be another trash can for sale. Just saying. But Texas.

Take it to the dump yourself

Call the council and you may be able to pay for them to take it away! I know it sucks and isn't ideal in anyway, but it's a solution at least :(
