Today, I dropped off my 19 year old daughter at her first job. It's at a strip club. FML

At least she has a job. Honest living at the end of the day. They pay taxes like the rest of us.

Hell, even I considered stripping once to pay for college, and I had awesome parents. There is such a thing as "classy" or "tasteful" stripping, and stripping does NOT equal prostitution. You don't know what type of club she was working at....or really even if she was a stripper, waitress, or hostess.

Sure, at 19 you can make your own decisions but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be good ones. It's the job of the parent to guide the child in the right direction. Other media does play a part but parental influence is very significant.

Is she possibly a bar tender?

Best job ever!!! Stop being prudes girls, all your boyfriends/husbands either go or want to. Just go with him and have some fun! Spice it up, nothing wrong with bringing other people in your bedroom or sex lives...we're only human, right?

I'd be a stripper, I see nothing wrong with it. But my bf doesn't go to strip clubs anyway. :P

I don't see anything wrong with strippers but I do disagree with the statement "all your boyfriends/husbands either go or want to" not to be rude, I just wanted to break the generalization (:

189 that's exactly why my significant other absolutely refuses to go to strip clubs. He has even had friends offer to pay for lap dances for him, yet still has no desire what so ever to go.

Guys will be curious if for no other reason than to see what its all about. I'd personally not want to go there just because of the crowd they attract, and my lack of interest in watching girls who I won't be sleeping with or don't know in any capacity get undressed...But who wouldn't be even a little curious as to what goes on behind those doors?

'i drop off' though you let her go. Take it better way, she has a job and means she will have money not just responiblily. You get me? Pray, God will look over her.

Amen sister! I was wondering who would blame OP's mom! "have a good day at work sweety, don't lose all your decency"

Maybe the mom did try to convince her not to, but her daughter insisted on it. You can't really tell them what to do at 19 when they are legally an adult. But then again.. None of us know the situation so I guess we shouldn't judge the I OP's parenting skills

Maybe she's not a stripper. Maybe she mops up the spooje off the floor in the coin op booths. Somebody has to do it.
