Today, I faced a dilemma. If I don't let the cat sleep in my bedroom, she spends all night howling at the door, waking up my 2-year-old in the process. If I do let her in, the dog gets distressed and chews the contents of the bin. If I let both of them in, I have no room to sleep. FML

Hey, OP here. For all of those who suggest drowning/bludgeoning/killing my cat, shame on you. I really hope you don't have a pet. For those of you who kindly suggested crating my dog, It's a good suggestion that I will keep in mind. My home is a two bedroom affair, I don't have a spare room to shut them in. My cat is a very nervous kitty, she was a kitten that came from a home with lots of young boys poking and prodding her and prefers the serenity and calmness I give to her. She becomes immensely stressed when I'm nowhere to be found. As for the dog, he is actually my boyfriend's dog and his is a case of boredom. Without the cat to play with during the night, he becomes mischievous and searches for trouble. No matter how well you plan, you'll never get everything and inevitably, there will be something he's shredded. Be it bin contents, washing or, once, the cat litter. Despite the numerous toys he has available. Our bed is a small double, and fitting a dog and a cat into the space barely meant to contain two adults is difficult. Adding a 2-year-old on top of that is a nightmare. For the moment, we're resigned to continue things the way they are. Your friendly OP - SweetheartSusie.

Since when are pet owners allowed room to sleep? Just lay where you want and let them settle in around you, sealing you in place like cement because you don't want to move and disrupt them.

Between my dog and my hubby I have no room. If I don't let the dog sleep with us, he sits on my side of the bed trying to lick me and whining. If I let him in, be either lies on me or in the exact place to disrupt my comfort for the night. The life of pet lovers. It's their house. They just let us pay the bills and pretend we're important! Lol

41- Just because his/her dog does that doesn't mean he's a bad dog, or that he's poorly trained overall. My pitbull mix is very obedient, but he has separation anxiety issues on occassion, and can sometimes be very needy. Maybe that's the case for his/her dog as well.

129- Yes, right. Maybe if you channeled the energy you use to act like a condescending elitist into actually doing some research, you'd start to have some logical arguments.

I have a Beagle. They like to be able to see you at least 99% of the time and touching is even better. My dog is very well trained and well mannered. YES he feels separation anxiety less than 3 ft away if he needs to be touched. Why don't you download an app to teach you about the world outside of your small, idealistic bubble. Better yet, pick up a book.

*High 5* kyleekay you made excellent points.

Sleep on the floor and let your pets have the bed. You are the only one in the house that is not a captive and is there of your own free will, so you should yield to make your prisoners comfortable.

Lock both pets in different rooms, they should not sleep in your room anyway.

There is only one solution. Kill the cat.

what the **** is wrong with you?

Crash on the couch, or the floor. Sometimes, you have to pamper your pets.

I have the same problem with my mini pig. If I let him in the room, he chews up random things on the floor and if I lock him out, he screams at the door all night.

Ever see honey boo boo that girl looks just like her pet always thought they were an odd choice... Nothing wrong with them but an odd choice

I actually wanted one of the teacup piggies once, when an old coworker was breeding them. They are definitely an odd pet choice, but they are so damn adorable.

They're too cute, and too smart! They're really good pets if you can find them cheap enough, most people want to charge $400 or more.

Am I the only one reading this and thinking noisy mini pig = mini sausage and bacon???

Sounds to me like you're the pet here. You're letting them control you.

The real solution is that you should put both pets up for execution, oops, I meant adoption at the local SPCA. You have no business keeping pets if they dominate you like this. You'd better grow a spine or your kid is going to become a tyrant.

YOU have a cruel heart. Once you afoot a pet it is supposed to be for life, not until they do something annoying. Training is the key, not dumping them at a shelter. **** you for even suggesting this. Asshole.

99- Take the stick out of your ass. Every comment by perdix is at least partially sarcastic. You were being sarcastic about OP growing a spine, right perdix? :-P
