First things first - you should still be able to be able to speak to a close friend about it. A lot of people have depression. Try a helpline
What's that got to do with being British? I'm British and yet I still talk to people about how I'm feeling or whatever.
Is this supposed to be funny? Obviously you're not really depressed if you can't even take your own mental illness seriously. And even if you are, you don't deserve sympathy if you yourself can't treat it like a real disease.
Still not fair! These fml's shouldn't be published!
Who else read this in a British accent
I live in Britain and everyone I know is pretty open about their feelings; perhaps not quite as much as in the USA, but people generally have no trouble telling others if they're having a hard time, even if they're more discreet about it. This FML sounds like it was written by an American who has no idea what British people are actually like.
what does being British have to do with anything
that's ridiculous. I know plenty of British and if they're depressed they get help. you're just making excuses.

People can't talk about their feelings in the UK? I don't know, try France or somewhere.
