Today, while trying to find my phone in the depths of the sheets on my bed, I gave my comforter a huge shake. A second later, I heard a crash. My phone had miraculously flown straight into the glass of water on my nightstand. Found it. FML

Today, I was laughing at a story of a girl who had dropped her cellphone in a hottub and ruined it. As I was feeling pretty good about myself, I then realized that my cellphone was in the pocket of a sweater that I had just thrown in the washer 20 minutes prior. FML

Today, I was running late for an important meeting and couldn't find my car keys. After searching around for way too long, I finally realised where they were - in the pocket of the pants I'd worn the day before, which were now spinning around in the now-unstoppable, two-hour washing machine cycle. FML

Today, after working out at the gym, I went to grab my bag, and realized that my phone was missing. Panicking, I reached into my pocket, pulled out my phone, and dialed my mom's number to tell her I'd lost it. It took me until the last ring to realize what I was doing. FML

Today I remembered to put my work uniform in the wash; as I hit start I got an email notification. My landlord confirmed that the engineer will be out to fix the washing machine tomorrow after my housemate reported it as broken. My clothes are locked in the machine that now won't turn on. FML

Everyone responding to this FML is assuming that the OP left the cellphone in the washing machine during a full wash cycle. There are a few things to consider: 1) The OP may have found the cellphone somewhere other than the inside of a washing machine and/or it may have been before the washer was started. Vague FML is vague. 2) The "WHACKWHACKWHACK" that the OP heard could have came from another object in the washing machine (laptop, iron, bowling ball, Employee of the Month plaque, George Foreman grill, etc.; I wouldn't put it past the OP) or from a person that somehow ended up in the washer (newborn baby, midget with down syndrome, Gary Coleman's rotting corpse, etc.) 3) I'm hoping it was not a brick (YouTube search "brick in washer" and view the first link if you are lost on this one).

Ahaha, that sucks OP! I did that once but didnt find out until the washer was done. A week later my sister went up to look at my phone and said it was working again but the volume was dead..
