Today, I finally found the courage to ask a guy I like out for a drink. He accepted, we drank, and when it came time to go home, I half-drunkenly left him my number. Once I got back home, I realized I'd actually given him my dad's number instead. FML

Today, I realized that I accidentally said my phone number wrong when I was giving it to a really smart, cute guy with all the same interests as me that I met at a bar last night. I'd had a few drinks and had gotten the middle three digits mixed up. FML

Today, I asked out the man of my dreams. He told me he'd have to ask his dad if it was OK. I thought he was just kidding, until he pulled out his phone and called his dad. After a few minutes of "Come on, Dad" and "But why?" he hung up and said his dad wouldn't let him. He's 22. FML

Maybe try telling your dad to expect the call and give him the correct number. Unless you are afraid your dad may snag him from you for a wild weekend playing hide the sausage... it should not be a big deal.

Wow, that's not a mature solution. As least it seems from your comment that you didn't explain the situation, you just played dumb. If the guy cared enough to actually text you, well, it must've really made him feel bad, as he probably thought you gave him wrong number on purpose.
