Today, I finally got the courage to tell my parents that I'm gay. My mom said "Yeah, we know." When I asked how they knew, my dad, without looking up from the tv, said, "We've been monitoring your Internet history." FML

Major invasion of your privacy, sure. But at least they didn't freak out and were totally fine about it. Plus, they waited until you were ready to tell them rather than confront you when they figured it out through snooping...gotta give them credit for that!

Sure, it's embarassing that they were monitoring you, but at least they were somewhat comfortable with it. Look on the bright side, this isn't one of those nightmare stories where the father - or mother - starts beating the hell out of you, screaming the whole time how you're possessed by the devil. Unless... what kind of stuff were you looking at? Are we talking the hardcore gangbangs with leather, whips, and chains, or just two guys kissing? They may have been stunned speechless, hence the calm.

It just means they had time to deal with any issues they might have with your sexuality before confronting you. And you're lucky your parents were so accepting that they didn't even confront you about it when they found out about it, they let you come out to them first
