A dead hamster might not smell too bad. Here in Arizona it's so dry that sometimes animals dry up before they start to stink. My friend found a mummified cat in an attic. It did not smell at all. Well just kind of dusty smelling.

my hamsters have 9 lives, i swear. i have three cats and two hamsters who can unlock their cage; several times i have found them dangling from one of the cats mouth. and lila has lived in a heater before x.o
