The vaccine should be okay. I've never had chicken pox either and had the vaccine when I was young and again in college. Took care of my younger siblings when they had chicken pox and I never caught it. It also didn't prevent me from going to other countries either, including the Philippines.
i have been to the phillippines and i have never had chicken pox?
Not every country offers the vaccine so that might not be an option. You can't even guarantee that going to a chicken pox "party" or hanging around someone with it will get you it as a few people have a natural immunity.
btw how do they know if u have had chicken pox or not they check your body/face for the scar? Love HK!!!
they check your medical records or antibodies. ive never had the chicken pox either so i got the vaccination last year
#13 You're wrong. You get shingles if you've ALREADY HAD chicken pox. It's isn't "the older version." When you get chicken pox you never really loose it. When you are under stressful conditions and exposed to someone with chicken pox, that's when you get shingles... Anyway... I never had chicken pox either, but I did have the vaccination... Perhaps, like others have said you have too?
i concur with everyone else who's saying that hk is pretty damn sweet. but i'm wondering why you can't get the vaccine? it seems a pretty drastic step for a school to kick you out when there's a vaccine readily available now.
#5 Except that depending on his age chicken pox is life threatening, as most people know. But that really sucks. I'm sorry. :[
That really sucks, and as much as it's not what you deserve, the caution is certainly warranted.

I've never had chicken pox and I'm 23. I'm afraid one day I'm going to have a kid, he's going to get it, and he's going to live the rest of his life knowing it was his fault he killed me.
Vaccine?
