the doctor said it could've lived inside me for 30 years. I'm glad they got it out :) and yes I'm feeling much better :)

oh wow. i'm not sure how true it is, but iv been told the only way to get a tapeworm to release its hold on a host is to bring the host to the VERY brink of death, then once the worm is off to quickly resuscitate them. i'll keep you in my thoughts. please get this taken care of as quickly and safely as possible. now, i'm off to google to do further research.

Usually you can just take some medicine that basically allow you to digest the worm. So you wont have to pull a several meter long worm out your butt.

Yea... don't believe everything you hear. Much like Wolli says, you can just take some medicine that either digests it or kills it so you can have fun pulling it out your backside.

honestly, i dont remember where i heard that. when i googled it last night tho, i did find that there are pills that kill it. still tho... the pictures i saw... there was one kind (pork, i think) that grows to 30+ meters... SCARY and GROSS!!

Tapeworms are kinda cool. they have hooks and suction cups so they wont be blown away from your intestine. They absorb nutrients through their entire body surface and the beef tapeworm can grow to 20meters! They reproduce by shedding off bits of itself. This is what you have to look for.

I read in china, people do the "tapeworm diet." They go to doctors who actually give them one to ingest, then come back in a couple mos to have it removed. I was grossed out and shocked at the extremes people will go to lose weight.
