Well how common is the name? If it's like Max or Jack, it may just be a slightly provoked coincidence. If it's something more uncommon like Kal-El or or Bronx Mowgli, you might want to talk about the meaning of it with your wife. Whatever you end up doing, try to leave your kid out of it. Being told you're named after your mom's drunken one night stand is not exactly something to be proud of.

Idk #80. If my wife's name was Lana Lang, I wouldn't want my son to be named Kal-El. Think I'd prefer Hashtag or North.

I know someone that recently had the name of their baby legally changed because they decided they didn't like what they named him to begin with. Not saying you should do that, but it is an option.

As bad as it sounds you shouldn't stress yourself too much. A lot of my family members were named after their parents ex lovers or lovers that never happened.

How exactly did you find out? An yea that does kind of suck but really who wins in this situation she is with you an she loves you because she had babies with you.

There is of course the possibility it was a name OP himself liked/first suggested and she liked it too. Just because he is the one posting it could simply be anger at discovering she had an ex of that name that hes irrationally pinning the choice of name on her. She may not have even associated the name with her ex regardless who chose it.
