Today, I found out nobody in my family wants to come to my college graduation. I spent 4 years and $60,000 to be the first person in my family to go to college, and nobody wants to see me graduate because the 4 hour ceremony is too long. FML

Today, it was my college graduation ceremony. My parents didn’t come because they “forgot”, although I told them and had been reminding them for months. Last year was my little sister’s high school graduation. My parents wasted no time going to her ceremony and then took her out to dinner. FML

Today, I graduated from Basic Training. I was really looking forward to seeing my family after being away for almost three months. They decided not to come to graduation because they didn't want to spend the money to travel here. They live 30 minutes away. FML

Today, my grandparents told me they couldn't make it to my college graduation, even with months in advance to plan, because they had their annual Mother's Day plans with friends. Plans they've had every year, and are further away. This was the only time I'll ever have a graduation ceremony. My grandpa is my last biological grandparent. FML

Today, after two weeks of trying to convince my parents to go to my high school graduation. They finally gave in. After they handed me my diploma, they decided to leave because it was "too boring." I'm currently sitting on the curb of the street waiting for my Uber, while people take pictures of me. FML

Today, my mom told me that on my graduation day, the reason she (and my dad) almost didn't show up was because they had to spend almost an hour convincing my grandma to attend. FML

Today, I found out why my boyfriend didn’t want me to attend his graduation: because a classmate he’s been seeing was there. I watched through the livestream posted on the school website as they held hands, hugged and kissed. I motivated him to finish college in the first place. FML

Today, I attended my graduation ceremony. My parents acted mysteriously and kept urging me to go home, since we had to be "on time" for something. Thinking they might have planned a surprise party, I left my friends behind. I missed my graduation because my mom wanted to watch a TV show. FML

Eh get a life man. You graduated for yourself or for them? i'm sure it would be nice if they were there, but if they dint want to be, would you rather they sit there and crib? Oh, Congrats. It is brilliant that you are graduating though :D

My ghetto ass family pulled the same thing. I had to explain to all my friend's families why I was there alone and got pity-faced all day. It sucked. To the nursing home they shall go, as for the extended family, they're all morons and I never liked em' much to begin with. Cheers to the 1st-in-family college kids!

That'll probably be what my graduation is like, they may show up to take a couple of pictures of me actually accepting my diploma, but the likelihood of their sitting through the entire ceremony... the idea of ME sitting through the entire ceremony is just unfathomable. Congratulations though, and I think if you explain how much it means to you, they'll join you.
