Make sure the kid is yours 1st.
You have rights find out what they are! I would venture a guess if you started paying her without a some sort of Paternity test you may be legally required to continue even if the child is found not to be your offspring! Demand a Paternity test before handing over a penny! On the other hand if the child is yours do everything you can within your financial situation, don't be another dead beat. Assuming he is your offspring do whatever it takes to build the bond! Don't lie to him tell him the truth, kids are very resilient! Good luck do the right thing
blockkk heeeer!
some laws prevent hitting up money if you aren't on the birth certificate in 2 yrs. I'd still get a DNA test, this is a common scam. and take her to court. she stole 8 yrs with your kid from you, and gawd knows what she's taught/ told the kid
sounds like me and my family:L
Congrats on the kiddo :-)
you're not legally obligated to pay in that situation. legal precedence would continue to hold the ex boyfriend, if anyone, liable for support since he had assumed the role of father to the child

ask for a dna-test. she seems crazy enough to make up the story to get some extra money.
Women like that are not making other single moms look good with the 'money hungry' stereotype that's growing these days....
