Today, I found out that my "friends" only invite me to their parties when they need a designated driver. Apparently I'm "not fun" because I don't drink, which "ruins the party". FML

I don't understand who voted YDI. Everyone always down vote people who get drunk. Now that there is someone who is actually responsible and doesn't drink people vote YDI? Good for you OP. You definitely deserve better friends.

It's probably because Australia has a very alcohol centered culture. If you don't drink, it is considered extremely odd.

It's probably less to do with you not drinking and more to you not participating in the activities and/or being judgemental to their behaviour. Regardless, since you appear to have no interests in common, probably is time to find some more friends.
