I once told my close friend that I found out that her boyfriend cheated on her. She stayed with him. Her boyfriend resented that I ratted him out and that caused problems with us. I lost a great friend! I now stay out of people's private business. "Damned if you do, damned if you don't."

who needs enemies with friends like these? if they seriously thought that it was ok, that they thought you were ok with it, your social circle needs dramatic editing. I feel bad for you OP, I hope you find better people to be your friends and a real woman who'll respect and love you completely.

DTMFA. As far as the friends' reaction, maybe she was lying through her teeth and saying that the relationship with OP was an open one, or that she and OP were poly.  The friends, if misinformed, could have thought that the whole thing was consensual.
