Today, I found out that the man who offered to put up the woman I love in exchange for me helping out with his rent, has in fact been her "other" boyfriend since before she moved in. FML

"put up" means give a place to stay. I think he means that he was paying for his girlfriend to live with the guy she was cheating on him with.

For those who can't comprehend this FML, OP is saying that he unknowingly has been paying the gentleman his girlfriend has been cheating on him with to house her(or "put up"). Regardless the reasoning to why she needed to stay there, he essentially has been paying for another man to sleep with his girlfriend, and she has been using him for his money

here's what happened. His girlfriend needed some place to stay, some dude was all "hey if u help pay for her, she can stay w/ me" and OP was all "yeeeah man super groovy" and now the first man is taking OP's money and bangin' his woman. What the crap were you thinking OP??? bad idea

FML" Actually I would get a better job/business, get more money, buy my own apartement, move in there and invite the girl I love with me. With no crappy cheating stories or shadow fraud. They say "Once a cheater - always a cheater." You can not establish long and happy relationship with the girl who betrayed you once. If I were you, I'd switch off my feelings to her.
