Today, I found out the medications my doctor gave me for depression are making me fat. My main reason for depression is an eating disorder. Now, I'm fat instead of just thinking I am. FML

Yeah, but jolly fat people are better than sad fat people! Seriously, though, go to a specialist on eating disorders. You're aware you have one, aware you need help.. Now get the help, if you can afford it. Otherwise, talk to your doctor. There's different meds you can try, and differrnt methods. Exercise can help your depression, and it MIGHT help your self-image.

or maybe you just think you're fat because of your disorder...

are you 90 lbs instead of 60lbs? That's terruble

I'd be interested to know what the OP actually considers fat. If she was suffering from anorexia and was severely underweight, then medication that helps her to put on weight and reach a healthy level can only be a good thing. Often recovering anorexics have trouble coming to terms with the fact that they need to change their mindset to understand that a healthy weight is not fat.

Ah American, got a problem, have a pill, WTF? IT IS DIFFICULT TO LOOSE WEIGHT IN AMERICAN, BECAUSE OF AMERICAN FOOD and it highly engineered food products! . seriously all american food have too much calories, if you truly want to loose weight , easy method: weight watchers/jenny craig. foreign food, true chinese food (NOT AMERICAN CHINESE!), Japanese food if you're into shushi, Indian food (have not seen a lot of fat Indians no offense to anyone, just personal experience) or Cold cuts like subways or make your own with right portions. hard way: calorie counter, no fast food (mcdonalds, burgerking, kfc) burgers, pizza, pasta, or anything fried. No soda (excessive corn syrup, personally I think corn syrup does health damage to the body).

Although you may have a few good points, some depression is actually a chemical imbalance in your brain, you can make the decision as to medicate or not. If it's not you or your body, don't judge others for having different views! She was seeking help, which is a responsible thing to do, wether it be pills, or just talking to someone. As another human being, try to empathize instead of judge. That's what's wrong with the world. Along with MANY other things, but this is a big one. Try to have an open mind, especially when someone is trusting their business with you and others. What if it was someone you loved dearly? Would it be different? Would you judge then? Would you go out of your way to be absolutely closed minded to them? I bet not. Try to think of her as what she is, another human being who is just having a really tough time. Have a damn heart.
