Today, I found out why my history grade is so low: the kid in front of me takes my homework, writes his name on it, and passes it off as his own. FML

Tell someone. He could get expelled for something like that

Kill him. In a historically accurate sacrificial manner. Then you can demand top marks for your extra-credit project,

I clearly didn't explain this enough. We pass most of our papers up to the front of our class. This kid however scratches put my name or erases it and puts his on instead. Yes, I've tried telling the teacher, but this kid is the teachers pet, and he has taken advantage of the fact that out handwriting is remarkably similar. I tried to tell on him, but since his handwriting is almost the same he gets away with it. He uses the stupidest lies for everything to make it copy-proof. I can't type it either because my teacher is an idiot that wants everything in paper. Our grading system is corrupt, and cheating only gets you a zero on that paper. Anyway, I've been making up the assignments and in barely passing the class.

@29: That's messed up the teacher won't do anything about it. Try going to the principal and even getting your parents involved because you shouldn't have to make up work you've already done just because someone else decided that they would take credit for it. Don't even bother passing your homework through the person next time. Just get up and take it to whoever sits in the front row, and then maybe your teacher will start noticing that his little class pet all of a sudden doesn't have his homework anymore while you do.

Yeh op I'd just straight up hand it to the teacher, get your parents involved or do the other suggestions like watermarking your name on paper before hand so he can't erase it. Your teacher sounds like a twat and your classmate sounds like an even bigger twat. Don't waste your time trying to re do your work that you have already completed and try and get this sorted ASAP. Good Luck op and hope you get to pass this class with flying colours :-)

if he doesn,t require it in lines paper, you could turn it in in computer paper with your name printed on it.

Your teacher can get into serious trouble for allowing this to continue. Go to your principal, and in the meantime, don't let that kid even touch your homework. Just give your paper to the person in front of him.

Yeah I'm probably just gonna report him and the teacher to the principal

Kick it up to the principal. Also, hand the paper to the kid next to you, and that person will pass it to the front of the class, bypassing the cheater. Also, have you tried your parents? They will raise hell for you.

Next time you hand in homework, scribble your name all over the margin and put a mark or word somewhere on the page so you can show the teacher. Or just do the homework wrong and the weirdest most wrong answers possible

If the principal doesn't do anything, that's when you bring in your parents to speak to the principal. That usually gets results. And then demand a new seat on the opposite side of the classroom. And next time **** up the assignment so badly but in discreet ways so he doesn't see them while writing his name on your paper. So then he will fail the assignment and he will never do it again.

You could always take a picture of the assignment completed with your name on it. This would show that it is your paper exactly and have a time stamp proving it was your name and exact writing on it well before being turned in. I still don't understand how this kid had time to erase your name fully and write his own without you or the teacher noticing.

Just turn in homework that makes no sense so he puts his name on it, then turn your homework in directly to the teacher.

And this is why I'm careful around kids that suck up to teachers.

Yeah you should alert your teacher, cause that's definitely fraud

maybe you should hide your homework from him?

Take the historically accurate method for their punishment by chopping off his right hand.

I hope both your grades are restored to correctness

This happened to me too, I know how you feel ;(

Good for him , work smarter not harder

How did you not notice the kid in front of you vigorously erasing something and then writing something in before passing it forward? Still surprising you can't still see some of your name under his since he had to have done it quickly. Maybe you should write in pen, then the teacher would be suspicious of white-out over a name.
