Today, I got a call from an ad agency offering me a job. I was so excited, because I've been looking for work for a few months now and really wanted to work for them. An hour later, they called apologizing, because they'd made a mistake and offered the job to the wrong person. FML

Whoa. That's like eating a chocolate cake in front of a starving man. So not cool. Good luck finding a job elsewhere!

i suggest you get yourself down to their offices late at night and throw a brick through their window the dickheads

YDI for it taking you months to find work. why not work a day job even at a place like mcdonalds or giant or CVS fulltime.... and then look for job openings when you get off work, over dinner? make some calls? it's really not that hard, you're making excuses, either that or you think you deserve a better job than you really do. YDI for being ungrateful for any kind of work

this happens a lot................. with colleges too.

FYL - but, as #11 said, you should be able to get some recourse, as most countries and states have employment laws regarding this, and once a job is offered it is yours. Otherwise, employers would offer 4 people the job and when the one they really wanted accepted, call the others back and say "sorry, my bad".
