Today, I got a parking ticket. I put the ticket in my bag and accidentally left the bag in my friends car. When I returned, the car window was smashed, my bag was gone. I had to call the police department and ask them to send me a new ticket, on top of the $1000 or so I'd already lost. FML

Has anybody considered that maybe several hundred of the $1000 this person lost was the replacement cost for the window? Glass replacement for cars can be EXPENSIVE. Even if it was his or her friend's window he would probably pay for the replacement as it was his mistake. The glass plus a nice cellphone could easily bring the cost up to $1000, and the bag itself might have been expensive. It really sucks that the car was broken into - people leave stuff visible in cars without thinking all the time. It's kinda stupid but everyone makes a mistake or forgets at some point. Doesn't mean someone else has the right to break in and steal stuff.

Don't leave your belongings in plain sight. I never do. Still sucks though. A lot. Obviously the $1000 probably wasn't in cash. A laptop or a phone combined with a designer bag could easily add up to this cost. So many people on this site are completely ridiculous... or maybe they just want to believe they're too smart for bad things to happen to them. Think for a second before you call someone a prostitute.

why would u ask them to send you another parking ticket? you just need to go to the court and pay it u dont need a copy of the parking ticket..i always lose or throw away mine..and i can pay without it

Wow... can't believe so many people are saying it's his fault for leaving his "valuables" unattended/visible. I guarantee you that probably half of the people who say that leave stuff worth a grand in their car unattended all the time. Also Lol at the thief stealing a parking ticket, that'd be great, him looking in the bag, I could just imagine him going: "Wait wtf???" FYL man, sorry to hear that.
