I don't see why people are always so upset at cops when they get a parking ticket. It's your own fault for parking where you aren't supposed to.

I assume it is not illegal to stand next to one's car, therefore you must have been ticketed for parking your car illegally. Standing next to your car does not change the illegality of the act. When the car is not in motion, the keys are not in the ignition, and the driver is not in the driver's seat, then the car is considered parked. It is as simple as that. Standing next to the car just made it easier for the cop to hand the ticket to you instead having to place the ticket on the windshield.

OP, you were supposed to stand ON your car, not BY your car. YDI for not having common sense.

the cop should have told you to move your car. bu what I'm wondering is what the ticket was for, parking meater, no parking sign, i feel it is your falt as much as it was the cops

It's depends if you parked in a no-park zone or, you were just about to get in your car when the meter ran out and a cop pulled up

it's the end of the month cops have a certain amt of ppl they r supposed to catch so they do wacky things

^ That really depends on where you live; quotas aren't as common as people seem to think. Besides, it could've easily been a ticket from a meter maid.

it is illegal to be the captain of a pirate ship.

it is not in new york, new jersey, california, and alaska. as a matter of fact, it is strongly encouraged that your waffles are rofled.

good thing i'm not in texas. i reside in rofl, waffle. so i'm pretty safe, i'd say.

but that's only if you can enter imagination land.

it is illegal to discriminate against waffles. and captain, what?

Correct me if I'm wrong but normally you have the right to move your car without repercussion until the ticket is printed out (atleast in most countries here in Europe, don't know about the US)
