Today, I got called a slut. I don't know what is worse, the fact I was called it or that I felt strangely flattered that the person thought I was getting any. FML

OP Here! I just wanted to say thank you for the really nice comments :) Just to clarify I am not a person who thinks sex is something that should be bragged or boasted about. I was trying to make an insult less hurtful. They caught me on a good day. Otherwise I wouldn't have taken it so well. But thanks again for the comments and for those that helped my FML get posted :)

Seems a tad unwarranted but take it how you will.

It doesnt matter,OP. Its strongly disrespectful to call anyone that.

"A ****? Me? Oh stop it, you're making me blush. You are just too kind."

How is that not offensive even in your point of view

When a girl hasn't gotten any in so long, an insult like that sounds like an improvement over the truth.

It shouldn't be a compliment.

cause it implies that she's not too ugly to not get laid or that there are people who would tap that.

A backhanded compliment of you can even call it that

You shouldn't take it as an insult or a compliment. You are you and **** what anyone else thinks of you whether you're getting any or not.

Well if she went around ******* what others thought of her, she might get pregnant and have a little opinion growing inside of her.

OP you have to raise your standards big time.

When I was at school, a girl that would always brag about how many men she had slept with in the previous weekend once called me a ****. I had been with the same guy for 2 years by then. I also remember someone similar calling me one long before I even started doing anything. Sometimes it can be a bit of a compliment? :s

I don't see how it was a compliment in your situation. People are just stupid and the girl who called you a **** was probably jealous of your ability to actually stay in a relationship.

When I was in middle schools, some stupid girls were picking on me, saying, "Mmm mmm. You can't get a man." And I was like, "Um, that's because I'm twelve." -.-

Maybe it was a term of endearment; she was re-appropriating the word for herself and those she thought were strong independent women. Or maybe she was just a meanie.

That word is usually unwarranted but in today's society it's dulled down. It's almost slang anymore kind of like how you hear rappers call women bitches and hoes. I believe it's still not a word to be used in everyday language.

I know a lot of people that loosely call other people "*****" without even indicating that they sleep with a lot of people, as it's just something mean you call someone you don't like. But this probably doesn't help you, OP.

I think most teenage girls have been called at least a couple derogatory names by the time they finish high school. And half the time the names aren't warranted people just have a bug up their butt about something.
