ive been there! Same exact experience. grade nine exams and they are three hours long. they wouldnyt let me leave either. they suck!!
Oh wow, that sucks. :( During my Religions final, I was on my period and started having terrible cramps. And I mean, truly terrible, killer cramps. I was sweating through my clothes and my ears were ringing, but I rushed through the test in about a half-hour and immediately went to the hospital afterward. Turns out I have endometriosis, and the severe pain I'd felt was an endometrial cyst exploding in my abdomen. Hopefully everything will work out for you like it did me, OP. Your health, body, and dignity are way more important than lengthy tests and arrogant teachers.
hahaha. i like how people are all like "you should know that it's coming" like everybody else said.. it's not that easy to do. not to be graphic, but the only way you can actually tell if it's coming is if you feel something wet down there. i sympathize though, it's happened to me before.. not during exams, but just class in general. i would've done what everyone else said though, with telling your supervisor or whoever that you need to be excused or you'd bleed over everything [& everyone, to emphasize it more. :P]
I feel so sorry for you OP!!! That would be horrible, having to get up and leave the room once the test was done and have it all soaked through your pants... Go on the pill, it'll help you regulate your cycle, and if you have important events, or exams like that or whatever, you can skip that period altogether, or just skip it for a week or whatever you want. It's what I do and it's a lifesaver.
Going on the pill can help, but isn't an option for everyone. I was on it for awhile, but ended up with a bunch of crazy symptoms because it messed with my hormone levels. I went off it in February, and I'm still waiting for it to get out of my system! It was a dream before the symptoms kicked in though. If you can handle it, it's great - but make sure to keep an eye on your health.
awww ive been in that situation too. just an hour and a half long exam and a teacher on menopause
Ugh, FYL for sure. I'm a diabetic, and my pump site went bad AND I got my period at the same time - during my AP Euro test. In addition we were all going to a restaurant as a group after the test, and I was wearing light-colored capris. Really glad I brought a jacket that I could sort-of conspicuously wrap around my waist... The test itself was fine for the first hour or so but come the essay portion I was a little unable to think thanks to my high blood sugar...really surprised I got a 4 haha.
I'd have just been like "I am on my period. If you don't let me leave this room, I will bleed all over this chair. Your call."
Ahh that sucks I had that happen to me during the PSAT's a few years ago.
This is what I have done once, not during an exam but it was during a test in my Civics class. And yes, it was a male teacher. I asked if I could go to the bathroom, he said I couldn't then I explained "Well, if you want I can give you a sex ed definition on what girls get and guys don't, and where us girls bleed once a month that makes us having to go to the bathroom." He let me go(:
ydi for being a girl
