Simple really... don't speed. Late for work, school or a social function? Leave earlier next time. =3
#80 - Not all speeding is reckless. The difference in "recklessness" between 55 and 56 is negligible, especially on an open road. Speed limits are really just an arbitrary line that is drawn. If you want to reduce the probability of causing a car accident to zero, you must cease operating a motor vehicle altogether. @AspiringSheCop - Speaking of people who think they're "badass", nice job bringing up the whole funeral thing.... And I am going to whine about cops, but first I'm going to whine about stupid laws like speed limits. I personally dislike speed limits in general more than the cops who enforce them, as speeding is a victimless crime. What is frustrating to me is that many cops realize how ridiculous it is to pull someone over for going 5 mph over the limit, while others (such as yourself) have to "fully enforce every law". It's really the inconsistency that is frustrating. Some places you can speed a little, but others you can't. It's unfortunate that cops get labled as "pigs", but as long as they're enforcing stupid laws, the messenger is going to get blamed. And in my entire life, I have only dealt with cops in traffic situations where I was not endangering anyone. They have not had to "save my sorry ass" ever, and I would hope that most officers hold a higher degree of respect for their fellow citizens than you do. #82 - leaving earlier next time still doesn't solve the problem of being "late for work, school, or a social function" at the present.
Well said 83.
If you haven't paid yet, don't. In the early 2000's a case like this was sent to a state supreme court and overturned on the basis of freedom of speech. I remember reading about this case in one of my lower division criminal classes. Do some googling for it, should help you out.
I would've said I was trying to clean the windshield and hit the wrong switch.
how are there less people that hit YDI? you broke the law, twice, next time instead of complaining about it, you just don't do it
#80 Speed is not reckless. The Autobahn is one of the safest roads in the world. Driving and texting is more reckless than speeding. #88 Hope you get caught EVERY time you do anything illegal. Sorry to the OP, but ought to be able to get out off a ticket, probably isn't even illegal, just a cop wanting to act like he's a BA

Haha that sucks. It was a nice deed, too bad you didn't notice it was a cop. Did he give you another ticket? I don't know if there's anything illegal about that.
Wow there sure are a lot of people on their high horse here. Get over it, s/he was trying to help out another driver. Lots do it, and most appreciate it. I love how people here act as if they are the epitome of perfection and can do no wrong. "omg u flashed ur brites. ur a bad persun. ttly ydi!!!1" Get over yourselves. Why do people always feel the need to bash on OPs? They're sharing their misfortune to brighten our days.
