Today, I had a date with a guy from the Internet. I'm 6ft1, which tends to put potential dates off, so I'd slyly knocked a few inches off my description. Turns out he'd done the same. He'd added a whole foot to his height. I had to crouch to talk to him. FML

Today, I met the guy I've been talking to online for two years in real life. He tried to convince me to have his children because they would be average height. He's a midget and I'm 6'2". This is the most romantic thing anybody has ever said to me. FML

Today, as a 6 ft 8 woman, I never get much attention from men, until today when a guy who was 7 ft 1 approached me at the bar with the chat up line, "Hey little lady, you look about my size, can I buy you a drink?" It worked. I'm such a stereotype, we’re going on a date tomorrow. FML

Today, I went to a coffee shop to meet an online date. I couldn't spot him, so he eventually came up and introduced himself. It seems his on-line picture must have been taken before I was born. I spluttered "This isn't going to work," and promptly scuttled out. FML

Today, I went on an online date. I'd spent a while getting ready and making sure I looked good. When I arrived at the café, I saw my date and approached with a smile. He stood up, looked me over, and said, "Oh, I thought you were your profile picture’s friend." Then left. FML

Today, I went on a date with someone I've been talking to online for weeks. Unfortunately, it turns out they'd used old photos and misrepresented themselves, and I didn't find them attractive at all. Even I'm not that desperate. We ended up having an awkward dinner and I couldn't wait for it to be over. FML

Everyone lies a little bit. I tried online dating, most girls were 20-40 lbs heavier than their pictures. Or they have only face pics (Myspace angles), and claim their body type to be "normal", or even "athletic". It's annoying when the girl is 7 inches shorter than me and 50 pounds heavier. I like how easy online dating is, but almost everyone who is on there is on there for a reason. Me it's because I don't get to meet many girls, and am too nervous to approach girls. But it seems most girls are on there because they weigh too much for a canoe to support. I'm not that shallow, but when meeting you I find you misrepresented your weight by that much and that's the first thing I find out about you, it's a little annoying. I've never gone on a second date with any of the girls I've met on a dating site. I don't meet many girls in my life (most are either my friends or girlfriends of my friends), but when I do they go much better.

About a year ago I was arranging a date with this really tall girl I met on a dating website. She told me that she lied about her height to make her an inch shorter to be less intimidating. I told her that I'd lied making me an inch taller. So I went from two inches taller to her to the same height as her. Not a big deal, but I found it hilarious how we both lied by an inch.
