Hey, OP here. After I said that, the interviewer busted out laughing- so there's a plus. She also said something along the lines of "Ya know, nobody says that sort of thing. Usually it's the boring 'I really need a job' type. But not you!" And laughed some more. I really need this job though, I've applied everywhere and this place is the first to call me. I won't know if I got it or not until next week, so I'm crossing my fingers!

I said the same thing in an interview! We were laughing a lot and I just said it without even thinking about it! I got the job there and then. If you make them laugh and say something different then they are more likely to remember you! In my current job I answered that question with "Because I know what I'm doing" and he gave me the job at the interview.. don't count yourself our because you were being unique! I hope you get the job

hey youd be suprised, a lot of hiring people likr to see your attitude and who you are dont freak out about saying awesome say it and continue with it. make them laugh and enjoy the last of the interview

Actually, that's not entirely a bad thing. Interviewers like people with confidence, so they could have taken it as that. Also, humour is always important in the workplace since it makes things less dull, so the person interviewing you might have taken that into consideration!
