The gas bill includes another security deposit of 150$ and a turn on fee of 50$. So, it was 300$ that I was past due on and I was doing the budget plan which was about 150$ a month. Only 2 months behind. As for the roommate, it's not her fault she lost her job due to down sizing and she is has been getting money from her parents... we've just used it for food. It's not a matter of whether or not I "deserve" to have my gas shut off. I do. I didn't pay the bill. I agree with that. The FML part of it is that my day was crap and then it got even crappier. Stop preaching and just read the stupid FML so you can say "Hey, at least I'm not that poor bastard." Get over yourselves.

How is this an FML? Pay your god damn bills.
someone probably already said this, but... "back in the day:" They used to boil water over a fire, to get a hot bath. Try that ;) Find your 4 largest pots and fill them ~85% full, (if you still have electricity) turn all 4 stove burners to "high," and when they roll, bring them to the tub, 2 at a time (one in each hand, have the doors already open before you carry pots of hot water), and repeat the process until you have a full tub of bath water. Enjoy your primitive, yet soothing bath. :D
I want to add something: Maybe she needs the internet to do part of her job. My father needs the internet in order to get all of his work done, as he deals in sales and needs to keep in contact with clients Honestly, her internet may be a needed bill if she wants to be able to afford food =/
how long.. have you been putting off paying your bill?? holy crap.... YDI..
damn that is a huge bill
Actually, it IS a few bills racked up and NO I don't have cable, internet, phone, etc. I use the computer at the library and/or work. My roommate lost their job and I have been trying to keep up with rent, electricity, and food on a not so good pay check from a horrendous job I hate and would like to quit if I could. I figured rent was the most important thing so we would have a roof over our heads so THAT was my priority. Oh yeah, and raman noodles so we could eat something. So screw you all. I'm trying as hard as I can.
Wow, a lot of cruel people here. I'm sorry to hear you'd hit rough times, but I'm hoping you're doing better now, found a job you like and can relax. Kudos to you for working hard and paying the rent and trying to stay afloat. I'm sorry about your bath.
Pay your bills you noncontributing citizen!

you shouldve improvised, had a nice warm bath, the water provided by your tears. ):
everyone who hit YDI is probably a student and has never tried living alone during a RECESSION. come on people - this is real life, if you haven't heard of the exponential growth of normal people not being able to make ends meet - you'll find out soon enough.
