Today, I had an interview for an office job. As a requirement, I had to show up dressed for the job. My friend has worked there for years and told me it was casual dress. I wore jeans and a blouse. Everyone else had on business suits. Obviously my friend doesn't know what casual means. FML

Even if the office has a casual dress policy, you should have worn a business suit for your interview.

A job interview normally is the part where you go in looking presentable in order to show them you want the job, not looking like you're going to the movies with friends

It doesn't really matter how they dress for the job during interviews you should dress formal.

Wow, OP gave a follow up, in which she explained that her friend had told her that a blouse and jeans were okay, (and they really weren't, but that's beside the point I want to make), and yet, STILL people are commenting like she's a total idiot. She might have known better, if not for her friend.

I'm thinking your friend doesnt want you working there and sabotaged you
