Today, I had just sat down in the lobby of my doctor's office when my phone alerted me that I had a friend request. I checked; it was from some girl from high school. I muttered to myself, "I don't want to be your friend." I then heard a gasp. She was sitting across from me. FML

emydoll tells us more.

I probably should have made a few things clear first, this girl was a total bitch in high school and made fun of me daily. So you can imagine how surprised I was in that horribly awkward situation.

Can't blame you. No way you could have predicted that. But maybe you should check your phone less and look around you more.

Wow. This is a sign of the downfall of society. Instead of saying hi from across the room and catching up she tries to add you on fb. Smdh.

Why is it a debate? There is a difference between discussion and debate.

I don't think OP deserves it at all. Who would expect the person who just sent a friend request to be sitting right next to them? You'd expect them to say hello in person, rather than on facebook.

If she was right there, why bother with the friend request? Why couldn't she just have said hello?

70: I have no idea where 4 was going with that, but I believe 17 was attempting a joke. Perhaps 4 mistakenly commented on the wrong FML.

All these people saying he should get off his phone lol maybe the girl should have actually tried to talk to him instead of just sending him a friend request on fb

I wouldn't want to be friends with somebody who was so socially inept that they had to send an internet message when they're sitting right the **** across from me and could far more easily just say hello either.
