Today, I had just sat down in the lobby of my doctor's office when my phone alerted me that I had a friend request. I checked; it was from some girl from high school. I muttered to myself, "I don't want to be your friend." I then heard a gasp. She was sitting across from me. FML

emydoll tells us more.

I probably should have made a few things clear first, this girl was a total bitch in high school and made fun of me daily. So you can imagine how surprised I was in that horribly awkward situation.

Can't blame you. No way you could have predicted that. But maybe you should check your phone less and look around you more.

You could've been talking about someone else.

I wouldve hit her with a smooth "just kiddin" and started talking to her like nothin was wrong

What happened to the good old saying "hello" instead of friend request.

#77 I was wondering the same thing but apparently it's outdated.

#13 or maybe OP just wasn't paying attention.

Now she needs a doctor to heal her feelings.

I want to know the follow up on this I wouldn't know how to react in an awkward situation like this

She stared at me awe struck and I just shrugged my shoulders and said "what did you expect?" Thankfully I was called back to the office almost immediately after it happened!

@136 Good for you! I hate the idea that just because it's been a while, you suddenly need to act like you care for said person. She sounds like a total bitch. I hope you feel a sense of satisfaction :p I do for you anyway.

Good for you for standing up for yourself! She deserved it if she treated you badly in high school.

You could have said you also saw one from someone else

I would have been like, "Just messing with you, I knew you were sitting there." :)

She shouldn't have assumed it was about her and she should have said hi in the office rather than appearing stalkerish. Don't feel bad. I think she should have done things differently.

If you could press You deserved it more than once, I would have. Some advice. Maybe check your surronding instead of being engrossed in your phone ans also keep the thought to yourself next time?

I was not "engrossed in my phone" as you said, I was waiting for an important message, so after checking in with the front desk I sat down and politely checked my phone instead of being rude and checking in front of the receptionist. But thank you for your horribly inaccurate statement :)

103 - You should really check your spell check before posting instead of being so engrossed in your own self righteousness.
