Today, I had my college graduation ceremony. As I was walking across the stage, some asshat, in front of over 55,000 students and staff, brazenly ran across the stage, snatched my diploma up out of the president's hand, and ran off. FML

Today, I learned that in spite of walking during the ceremony, my graduation was denied. That was nearly 4 years ago, and I never knew this was a possibility. I'd been a drop-out all this time. FML

Today, I walked at my graduation ceremony, proudly wearing my valedictorian cords. It turns out that, after some confusion on behalf of the student services office, I was neither valedictorian nor salutatorian (by 0.2 points). I'm dating the actual valedictorian. FML

Today, I finally got the guts to walk out of class 30 minutes early, only to find that the back door was locked. As I stood there like an idiot trying to get it open, all 200 people in my class turned to laugh. My professor stared at me. I then walked back to my seat, sat down, and unpacked. FML

Most schools give fake diplomas during the ceremony. Students have the real one mailed of have to pick it up.

They never give the real diploma on stage anyway. It just sucks that guy ruined your moment.

They don't give the actual diploma mainly because the final semester grades haven't been verified yet. Also, you can "walk" and still have a couple classes to take during the summer. I don't think any school is really concerned if something were lost in the mail when it is useless to anyone except the intended recipient. If they handed out the real one during a college ceremony, it would be difficult to ensure they were definitively in the order of the 1,000's walking across the stage, thereby making the ceremony even longer. There are many reasons for handing out just the cover, or a fake.

The only thing good on 6th St. is the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. In another 10 years, 6th St. will be just like Bourbon & Beale Sts - nothing but T-Shirt shops & Daiquiri shops, total tourist traps!

OP. I wouldn't worry, most schools give just a rolled up paper that's not really your diploma at graduation. The real one comes later! So asshat got nothing... Unless your school did give the real deal... In which case... They won't anymore.
