My daughter has a thing for crayons, tiny rocks and leaves. Oh, and sand. She's almost 2, so I totally understand your frustration, OP. I've heard it gets better. I'm hoping they're right.
Look on the bright side, it could have been a myriad of disgusting things, at least it wasn't.
I do hope the person you were conversing with is someone you know fairly personally. There's no need to give out such specific information. You could leave it at "I gotta go" or say that your kid got into something. Not everyone needs to know the peculiarities of what weird thing your child is eating. It's less to do with grossness (This is fairly tame, honestly. I've dealt with kids eating worse), more to do with oversharing. Good habits start early.
