Today, I had to hand write a 10 page essay for one of my classes. When I turned it in I got an automatic zero. It was written in blue. Not black. FML

Today, I went to check my grade, which was posted for an essay for my comp 1 class. I got a zero. I was devastated only to find out I never actually clicked the submit document button. My grade dropped 20 points. FML

Today, after turning in a paper that I worked really hard on, I got it back with a grade of 0. In the feedback section, my professor wrote: “In all my 37 years of teaching, this is by far the worst essay I have ever read.” FML

Today, I broke my dominant hand. My teacher insists we hand-write our essays. I called and asked if it was okay for me to type up the essays. She said no. I have two essays due tomorrow, which count for half my grade. FML

Today, my teacher told me that she couldn't find my hand-written essay on the Renaissance, and that I have to re-do it all by tomorrow. I later saw my essay on her desk, covered in a massive coffee stain that made virtually everything unreadable. FML

Today, I asked my professor what happened to the assignment I gave him several weeks ago. Turns out he lost it, and graded me zero as a result. Now if I want a mark, he says I'll have to hand-write it all over again, but that I "probably shouldn't bother," because it was "a bit shit, really." FML

Today, I had my teacher look over my essay before turning it in. He said it was extremely well-written, so I handed it in. When I got it back, the feedback he left said it was one of the worst essays he'd ever read. FML

Today, I got a writing assignment back. After meeting with my professor specially after class and meticulously combing through every word of that paper, I got a low D. Turns out, he graded me down on every suggestion of his that I took. FML

My teacher gave me detention today for the same reason, exept it was red and it was only 3 pages, i redid it in her cheap black erasable like she wanted, and got 20/100, and SHE is mad i got a f for her class

Why the hell would you write an essay in red pen? That's not even remotely sensible. Judging from that, your essay probably deserved a 20. Oh and it IS your fault if you're failing that class.

I have to agree with approximately 75% of these responses. If the professor is that hardcore about that small of thing, why didn't you make a point of following every single tiny rule to the letter? So, you're in a class where you have to write 10 page papers yet you're still allowed to write them and not type them? wtf? I've had to type my papers since like 6th grade...and we were writing 2-3 page papers back then. ...at least, I'm assuming you literally WROTE it, in blue pen ink, rather than being a total dumbass and TYPING it in blue ink. If you typed it out, you TOTALLY deserved it. What dumbass would type a paper in blue ink?! Writing it is one thing, typing is different....
