Today, I had to stand up on a train for my 4-hour journey. Why? Two pregnant women flew into unbridled rage with me over sitting in the priority seating, saying I was selfish. I'm recovering from spinal surgery. FML

And someone else couldn't get up for them? It had to be you and you only?

You should have explained your predicament to them and they probably would have let you sit

alright guys, OP here, thought i should make an account to comment on my dumb story. i had lumbar decompression surgery about 2 weeks ago, still hobbling around a bit so sitting down was nice. unfortunately it was a packed train from manchester to london, and there were lots of people getting on. two of these happened to be a couple of pregnant ladies. my first mistake was locking eyes with them for just a second as they must have seen this as an opportunity to ask me to get up and let them have the seat. i did say i was in no position to stand myself as id just had surgery, then one of them started yelling that people have no respect for people who are pregnant, saying how sore her ankles were, asking me if i'd give it to an elderly person, basically ranting on and on while her also pregnant friend butted in every now and again to agree. by this time they can't even hear me over their shouting and arguing with other people standing in the aisle on the carriage, i'm telling the people around me i've had surgery but they're all staring daggers at me, the guy across from me saying "just move for them mate" like i'm the one in the wrong. and it was a keyhole surgery so i couldn't exactly pull my top up and show them the scar because there's hardly one there! after about 5 minutes it was pretty clear nobody was going to move and their shouting was just getting louder so i stood up and said "fine you know what take the seat and stop yelling" i just wanted her to shut up and she quite nimbly dove into it. the train only got more and more crowded after that so as soon as there was a seat available someone faster than me got into it. i survived though i needed to put my feet up for a day or two after i got home!

Honestly, if I were the one recovering from a spinal surgery and still forced to move no matter how much I were to explain my situation, you'd see me on the floor a couple of minutes later, pretending to be fainting from the pain.

If the guy could tell YOU to move, then he should have been more than fine with getting up his own self for them to sit down. Including all of the people who were shooting daggers at you. They simply didn't care because they had their seats.

I would have showed them the motherfuckin ugly scar.

For those of you who didn't see, OP gave a response. Look at page 2. He explains the whole situation and gives details. The pregnant bitches were definitely in the wrong and there were able-bodied individuals who could have moved for the pregnant women but didn't and decide to judge OP EVEN AFTER OP explained he just had the surgery and wasn't in the position to stand. Since no one else wanted to let the pregnant women have a seat and no one else would back up/support OP, he eventually moved so the women would stop screaming at him.

Tell them to wear a condemn next time and maybey you won't get knocked up

I wouldn't have gave up my seat if I were you. You had a legit reason to be sitting there, it's not your fault they didn't get knocked up by a man with a car.

That sucks, but hopefully soon you'll grow a spine and be over it. Their pain is just begining. Now is the time for an evil smile and maniacal laughter for you.

you should have told them that you just had back surgery...speak up for yourself man or no one else will.

still though, they're pregnant. It sucks but so does pregnancy.
